Successful Mage build:
Battle Mage 1 vs 1:
A battle mage is a mage that uses no casting spells (Plasma bolt, Overload, Plasma rain or Super charge). A successful way to be a battle mage, in my opinion, is to be a heal looper (a heal looper is when a mage will use energy to heal and constantly heal with the aid of reroute. A successful way to do this( I've found ) is to get at least 7 reroute, and at least 6 heal, with over 110 health. Something else that helps is getting a level 1 or 2 malf so that it doesn't cost too much energy to use, but is still effective. And points in deadly aim is always useful. But not above 7 points is my advice.
Battle Mage 2 vs 2:
*Refers to Battle Mage 1 vs 1* As long as you are able to hit hard, it should work in 2 vs 2 as well.
Caster Mage (General)
A caster mage (Uses casting spells) is not successful, some might say.. But I completely and utterly disagree. The reason people think that they aren't successful is because after the casting, they've got nothing. But, my advice to be a successful caster mage is to only focus on one casting skill and add malf to cause damage with, not only the skill, but your weapons too. And don't just stack up on one stat ... That's useless on actually winning. Get a basic 3 or 4 focus build with high health, that way you can cause damage DURING and AFTER you cast. (try and always have 1 energy booster and 1 health booster, they help)
(Thank you Barney for these great tips!)
