There are MANY ways to make a successful build, no matter your class, because all class's are equally made to be able to beat the other two class's.
P.S: Remember that one way to win that very many of the great players use is to have diversity in their weapon damage type:
What I use is energy primary and robot, physical secondary and auxiliary. But many people will use same auxiliary damage type as their primary to have one unblock-able and one block-able type.

[glow=red,2,300]1 vs 1:[/glow]
I've been a merc for a while now and I've noticed that the best way to have a good 1 vs 1 build is one of 2 ways:
1. Be extremely divisive; By this I mean of course that you have to expect the unexpected. Arrange your skill tree and energy in a way that it has many possibilities ( In most cases "many" would be centered around 3 or more skills ). This way, you can mold your strategy to most of what your opponent can throw at you, therefore having a better chance of winning.
2. Being a tank; by this I mean that you have high defenses, high health and being able to hit hard, most of the time it's best to be able to heal twice as a tank, because they can last and then go out with a bang.
[glow=red,2,300]2 vs 2:[/glow]
Winning a 2 vs 2 is very simple ... Most people would think the best way is to spam support with 61 energy and max multi but it isn't... 'Cause what will you do after that ? After you aux and multi and heal ... There isn't much you can do. So I suggest that you find a way to be able to cause damage after you multi ( Not just with aux, regular attacks and gun too ), usually this can be fixed with simply having a 4 focus, and still havinhttp://epicduelcampus.proboards.com/index.cgig that max multi 61 energy type thing.
[glow=red,2,300]Successful Mage build:[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Battle Mage 1 vs 1:[/glow]
A battle mage is a mage that uses no casting spells (Plasma bolt, Overload, Plasma rain or Super charge). A successful way to be a battle mage, in my opinion, is to be a heal looper (a heal looper is when a mage will use energy to heal and constantly heal with the aid of reroute. A successful way to do this( I've found ) is to get at least 7 reroute, and at least 6 heal, with over 110 health. Something else that helps is getting a level 1 or 2 malf so that it doesn't cost too much energy to use, but is still effective. And points in deadly aim is always useful. But not above 7 points is my advice.

*Refers to Battle Mage 1 vs 1* As long as you are able to hit hard, it should work in 2 vs 2 as well.
[glow=red,2,300]Caster Mage (General)[/glow]
A caster mage (Uses casting spells) is not successful, some might say.. But I completely and utterly disagree. The reason people think that they aren't successful is because after the casting, they've got nothing. But, my advice to be a successful caster mage is to only focus on one casting skill and add malf to cause damage with, not only the skill, but your weapons too. And don't just stack up on one stat ... That's useless on actually winning. Get a basic 3 or 4 focus build with high health, that way you can cause damage DURING and AFTER you cast. (try and always have 1 energy booster and 1 health booster, they help)
Successful Bounty build:
[glow=red,2,300]1 vs 1:[/glow]
Alright... Bounty's are quite the charm of the epic duel society. They are simple ... And difficult at the same time... The most successful bounty's I've seem work with decent amount of strength, 65 energy, with smoke, blood lust, poison and massacre. This is a good build, but might I suggest that if you have an energy weapon or rarely use smoke(or poison), instead of getting smoke(or poison), get a level 9 heal that could be used to replace massacre if you aren't going to survive... This is very useful.
[glow=red,2,300]2 vs 2:[/glow]
For 2 vs 2 I would suggest trying a merc-type build. You would have EMP , blood lust, and multi with 61 energy. You could wait to use your multi and heal, or go for the kill and EMP someone that would cause the most damage( usually a high support merc ). Along with this, you'd want to be able to cause some fairly nice damage after the multi, which is very useful if you get EMP'd.
Feel free to discuss :]
